Central Nervous System
The central nervous system of vertebrates and invertebrates can be
compared in common market items such as fish, squid and shark. When
these dissections are done simultaneously, similarities and differences
are easily seen illustrating lines of evolution.
(C) cerebellum,(CG) cerebral ganglion, (E) eye, (ESO) electrosensory
organ (ampullae of Lorenzini), (LLN) lateral line nerve, (M) medulla (O)
optic tectum, (OG) optic ganglion, (ON) optic nerve, (S) semicircular
canals, (T) telencephalon.
