School Year Camps
Sidwell Summer offers Spring Break and Winter Break programs that families can register for by the day or for the week. Each year, students from all over the Washington area join us for some vacation fun! The Spring Break Camps will be held on the DC Campus. Afternoon extended day can be added for care until 6 pm.

Spring Break Program Descriptions
Sidwell Soccer Camp (K – Grade 6)
9:00 am – Noon (AM Only); 9:00 am – 3:00 PM (full day)
Get out and play! Each day we will have soccer coaches from the Sidwell Soccer Camp running a variety of drills, small sided games, and other fun activities to enhance your soccer skills.
The Handwork Studio (K – Grade 6)
9:00 am –1:00 pm (AM Only); 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (full day)
Perfect for those spring days! Come learn fun, new crafting ideas such as needle-felting, embroidery, the basics of hand and machine sewing, wonder knitting, and kumi-himo (Japanese braiding.) New projects will be offered each day -- stuffed animals, toys, room decor, fashion accessories, and more! Boys and girls and welcome
Machine Sewing (Grades 5 – 10)
9:00 am –3:00 pm Full Day Only
Use your spring break to make some fabulous new clothes, stuffed animals, or great fashion accessories! Different projects will be offered each day. Learn the art of using a sewing machine, reading and constructing from patterns, and working with different fabrics. No experience necessary!
Extended day care available for all programs until 6:00 pm each day ($20/ day).
Lego Engineering FUNdamentals & PreEngineering (Grades K – 5)
9:00 am -12:00 pm, Full week registration only
Students will build cities, bridges, and motorized cars/planes and explore the many creative possibilities of engineering with the LEGO® system. With access to over 100,000 pieces of LEGO, your child will have the opportunity to build what they have only dreamed of with the support of an experienced Play-Well Engineering instructor to guide them.
Meet our Staff
The Sidwell Summer team is coordinating great break programs for you by inviting some of our favorite staff and friends in to help lead different sessions. Karen, Director of Auxiliary Programs, will head up the Winter Break festivities along with Coach Lester and friends from The Handwork Studio. The Sidwell Friends' aftercare staff, year round Summer Office team, and Sidwell Summer coaches, bring the fun for Spring Break!
What To Bring
Participants should dress comfortably and appropriately for their activities and should have layers for when we go outside when the weather cooperates. Participants should bring lunch and a snack daily. Participants in the soccer camp should bring an extra water bottle, soccer ball, indoor shoes.
Lunch/ Snacks
Participants should bring lunch and a snack daily as there is no opportunity to purchase lunch during school breaks. Snack is provided in the Camp ‘til Six program.
Spring Break Drop Off/ Pick Up
Families will receive an email with detailed instructions about Spring Break Pick Up and Drop Off.
Extended Day
For the school break programs, Camp ‘til Six is a wonderful relaxing time of free play, board games, playground time (as weather permits), gym time and movies (G and Pixar/Disney PG). A snack is provided. Pick up is by 6:00 pm.

Winter Break Camps
Give the gift of some fun this winter break (and parents – enjoy some extra time for yourself to work, run errands, or get ready for the holidays!). Join us for a day or all of them! Apply online after November 15, 2011. Choose from:

- Am Only Basketball Clinics (Grades 2-8)
Morning Only winter break campers should bring a snack. Full day campers should also bring a bagged lunch. Pizza lunch will be provided on Fridays! Specific drop off and pick up information will be sent to all Winter Break participants via email.

Winter Break Program Descriptions
Soccer Skills Clinics
Grades K-8
This program will have two tracks. For the beginners, a chance to learn skills and have fun playing soccer. For motivated rec and travel players, an opportunity to work with professional coaches on their technical skills and small sided games. The sessions will be primarily held indoors. If the weather is above 45 degrees, we may play outside on the turf fields. Wear indoor shoes and dress in layers. Led by Coach Lester, Sidwell Summer's Soccer Camp Director.

K- Grade 6
