Sidwell Summer Soccer Camp is designed for players of all levels in Grades K- 8.
The camp will make full use of Sidwell Friends turf fields and gyms. The youngest campers will work with coaches and counselors to learn the fundamentals of the game- kicking, dribblings, passing, and shooting. Age- appropriate games will be used to keep players engaged and to maximize fun. Technical skills are the focus of the morning. For example; Mondays - dribbling, Tuesdays - passing, Wednesdays - trapping, Thursdays - shooting/heading, and Fridays - review of all skills. The morning ends with small sided. Professional coaches will work with the intermediate and more advanced players to develop technical skills. Campers will play small-sided scrimmages daily and a Friday Around- the- World Cup tournament closes out the fun!
Each day campers will have the option to take a break from the heat to watch part of a video in an air-conditioned classroom. Players should bring appropriate indoor and outdoor footwear (cleats/sneakers), shin guards, and a ball labeled with the camper's full name. All participants will receive a Sidwell Summer Soccer Camp t-shirt. Full day participants will have a pizza lunch on Fridays.

Counselors
All of our conselors have extensive recreational, travel, high school and college playing experience and look forward to sharing their passion of soccer with our campers.
The Sidwell Summer Soccer CIT Program is a hands-on leadership program that provides coaching and counselor leadership experience through working with young children. The CIT's are under the mentorship of our coaches and counselors. CITs will be able to experience, first hand, the role and responsibilities of acting as a counselor for campers.Additionally, they will have the opportunity to create coaching lesson plans and activites under the guidance of the coach coordinator and participate in weekly seminars that will serve as a foundation for working in a camp and professional environment.
CITs will assist with carpool, daily camp set-up, attendances, drills and games, supervise campers during lunch, etc. This is a great leadership opportunity for soccer players that enjoy the sport and helping younger children and are looking for an experience to help transition into a counselor position in the future.
The Sidwell Summer Soccer Camp CIT application will be available January 2012.
Sidwell Summer Soccer Camp participants do not need any additional medical forms beyond the information provided in the online application unless campers need wish to have permission to take over the counter medication or need to take prescription medication during the day.
