The All Star Team is our year round staff that make summer programs possible
Lauren Brownlee is an Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs at Sidwell Friends School. She first began working with Sidwell Summer programs in 2000, and joined the year-round team in 2005. Lauren has directed Sidwell Summer’s Counselor Assistant Program, Women’s Leadership Program, Riverview Enrichment Camp. Lauren directed the CIT Program for Washington Episcopal School in 2002. Lauren is a graduate of Sidwell Friends School and Wellesley College.
Janet Carter is the Director of Sidwell Summer for Sidwell Friends School and has been with Sidwell since 2001. Prior to joining Sidwell’s Auxiliary Programs, she served as one of the directors of Rockbrook Camp in Brevard, NC for four years.
Karen McCann McClelland is the Director of Auxiliary Programs at Sidwell Friends School. She joined Sidwell in 1998 after serving as Dean of Students at St. Margaret’s School. Previously she was the Business Manager and Dean of Students for the Explorations Summer Program held at Wellesley College. She has also worked at summer programs at Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA and St. Margaret’s School in Tappahannock, VA. Karen graduated from Bowdoin College and has a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Her two children (Sarah 5 and Keegan 7 ½) love being a part of Sidwell Summer too!
Justine Rager is the Assistant Director of Auxiliary programs at Sidwell Friends School and has been working with Sidwell Summer since 2002. Previously, she was Department Chair of the History Department at an area independent school as well as working summers at Sidwell Friends in a number of capacities. She was appointed in 2004 and continues to work as Adjunct Professor of American University Graduate School of Education. Justine has an MA in Educational Leadership from Columbia University.
Caroline Reynolds is an Assistant Director in Auxiliary Programs during the year and the Co-Director of Explorer Programs during the summer. She is responsible for the planning and implementing Explorer Programs. Caroline has experience teaching in Birmingham, AL and Washington, DC and has an MAE from the University of Alabama.
