Machine Sewing Camp (Grades 5-10)
Program Overview
Welcome to the wonderful world of machine sewing where YOU get to choose! Campers will have the opportunity to create and design "one of a kind" fashions, adorable stuffed animals, room decorations, quilts and other fun accessories in the fabrics of thier choice. Whether you are new to sewing or a seasoned seamstress, our expert staff will work with campers individually and in a group setting to ensure success and growth. Our instructors will patiently teach kids how to use a sewing machine (a machine is provided for each camper), read patterns, take measurements, match colors, and help create a sewing kit that we fill with our favorite tooks to take home*. Come back week after week and year after year, as we create new, fresh, on trend catalog of patterns (including those from our partner, Simplicity).

More About Handwork Studios
Friends from The Handwork Studio LLC, a kids' needle arts and fashion studio, will be back again for Summer 2013 to help pass down the tradition of teaching practical arts such as knitting, crocheting, hand and machine sewing, embroidery, and quilting. The Handworks staff is comprised of professional artists, instructors and skilled teachers, dedicated to making each student feel special. Their teaching philosophy is one that focuses on camper accomplishments.
The Handwork Studio is designed to: nurture its students in a positive social environment with a "Can Do" attitude that fosters creativity while learning lifetime skills.
What To Bring
Please note all personal items and clothing should be labeled with camper’s first and last name.

Lunch/ Snacks
Each child should bring a lunch labeled with his/her name to camp daily Monday to Thursday. Pizza and ice cream is provided on Fridays. There will be a break/snack time in the mid-morning should you want to send a snack for your child. Please send a water bottle to camp each day labeled with your child’s name as well.

Forms & Health Information
In addition to the Over the Counter Medication Distribution Form and Physician Release Form, all Community Service participants are required to send a copy of his/her immunization record. Additional forms may be required by service organizations and participants will be informed before the session begins.
