The Handwork Day Camp (Grades K-6)

Program Overview

Let your creativity run wild! Learn a variety of needle arts skills in a fun and modern way with our cheerful and patient instructors. In this project-based program, campers have the opportunity to learn knitting and crocheting, hand and machine sewing, embroidery, needle-felting, weaving, and much more! Each day campers will experience different techniques as they make stuffed animals, room decorations, fashion accessories, clothing, toys, and camper inspired projects!

Projects change week-to-week allowing campers to continue to build their skills and to make new and fabulous projects throughout the summer. The result: Making really cool projects with new friends while haivng Fun! Fun! Fun!

Additionally, every camper will take home a "Handwork Kit" filled with our favorite supplies so they can continue the fun and learning.*

*One kit per camper per summer.

More about Handwork Studios

Friends from The Handwork Studio LLC, a kids' needle arts and fashion studio, will be joining us for Summer 2011 to help pass down the tradition of teaching practical arts such as knitting, crocheting, hand and machine sewing, embroidery, and quilting. The Handworks staff is comprised of professional artists, instructors and skilled teachers, dedicated to making each student feel special. Their teaching philosophy is one that focuses on the students accomplishments.

The Handwork Studio is designed to: nurture its students in a positive social environment with a "Can Do" attitude that fosters creativity while learning lifetime skills.

What To Bring

Please note all personal items and clothing should be labeled with camper’s first and last name.  Campers should dress appropriately for activities (e.g., bring indoor and outdoor athletic shoes, shorts and t-shirt to run around).

  • Backpack (for take home items)
  • Lunch/ Snacks in separate bags (See below)
  • Water Bottle

Lunch/ Snacks

Each child should bring a lunch labeled with his/her name to camp daily Monday to Thursday.  Pizza and ice cream is provided on Fridays.  There will be a break/snack time in the mid-morning should you want to send a snack for your child. Please send a water bottle to camp each day labeled with your child’s name as well.
