Extended Day Programs
Sidwell Summer offers morning and afternoon Extended Day Programs on both of our campuses. Early Risers is available from 7:30-8:45 AM and Camp 'til Six is available from 3:00-6:00 PM. The programs operate slightly differently on each campus. Additionally, there are two age-appropriate Camp ‘til Six programs on the DC Campus to ensure safety and fun for all participants. Registration Policies and Procedures
Camp 'til Six and Early Risers are avialable for weekly registration only. Registration for daily Early Risers and/or Camp ‘til Six should be completed using our online registration or by contacting the Sidwell Summer office for assistance. Early Risers and Camp ‘til Six registration should be done in conjunction with camp program registration.
Weekly registration should be completed no later than noon on the Friday prior to the start of the program. This allows adequate time to notify program leaders that a child should go to Camp ‘til Six.
What To Bring
We have a number of supplies - games, arts & crafts supplies, activities and more - in our Extended Day Programs and we encourage participants to socialize and participate in the variety of activities offered. That said, we do not allow participants to bring personal game systems, music players or electronic devices of any type. Note, please take into account that Sidwell Summer is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal items.
Snacks
- Every morning in Early Risers a breakfast snack will be provided.
- Every afternoon in Camp ‘til Six a snack and juice will be provided.
Drop Off/ Pick Up Policies and Information
Bethesda Campus: Both Early Risers and Camp ‘til Six take place in the Cafeteria/Multipurpose Room. In the morning, please walk your camper to the Multipurpose Room for drop off and check-in. In the afternoon, please walk to the Multipurpose Room to sign-out your camper.
DC Campus: Both Early Risers and Camp ‘til Six take place in the Middle School building. Pick up and drop off for both programs will be at the 37th Street entrance to the Middle School. Please walk your child into the Middle School to check them in for Early Risers. If you arrive prior to 5:45 for Camp 'til Six, please walk into the Middle School to check out your child. If you arrive after 5:45 pm to pick up your camper, please stay in your car on 37th Street and a staff member will assist your child into your car.
Early Risers Drop Off Policy
Our camp staff is often preparing for the busy day ahead before campers arrive. Campers may arrive on-campus 15-minutes prior to the start of any program. Should you arrive earlier, an adult should wait with the camper(s) until the designated drop-off time. Please note this is for the safety of all campers and the camp program. Any camper on-campus any time before the designated drop-off window not accompanied by an adult will be taken to the Early Risers program and charged the Early Drop-Off Fees.
Early Drop Off Fees: Staff are preparing for the camp day in the morning and are not available to supervise campers before the program’s start time. It is unsafe for campers as well as the program to have any camper on campus unsupervised. Therefore, early drop-off fees are incurred if any camper is on-campus prior to the designated drop-off time without an adult. A parent or guardian will be called that morning if a camper not registered for Early Risers is taken to Early Risers for any portion of the morning. The charge will be double the Daily Registration fee ($30.00). Please note charges are per camper and will apply to each child. Payment is expected over the phone once notification is received.
Camp 'til Six Late Pick Up Policy
Late Pick-Up Policy and Fees: Our staff’s time is as valuable to us as the time of our families. Therefore, late pick up fees are incurred beginning at 6:00 pm. Payment is due at the time of pick-up- no exceptions. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card in the office. If a camper is picked up within 15-minutes of the designated pick-up time, it is a flat charge of $15.00 (between 6:00 pm and 6:15). Campers picked up between 6:15 and 6:30 pm, there is a flat charge of $50.00. Any camper picked up later than 6:30 is charged a late fee of $75.00 and this is considered grounds for dismissal from the Camp ‘til Six program without refund. Please note charges are per camper and will apply to each child.
