Fall 2005

US One Act Play Festival: Mrs. Sorken by Christopher Durang, The Author's Voice by Richard Greenberg, Reverse Transcription by Tony Kushner, Hidden In This Picture by Aaron Sorkin; Friday, September 30 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, October 2 at 2:30 pm.  General Seating. Free. Recommended for high school age or older.

US Play: Noises Off by Michael Frayn.  Friday, November 18 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, November 19 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 20 at 2:30 pm.  Ticket prices:  $8 adults, $3 non-Sidwell Friends students, Free for SFS students. Same day tickets are on sale at the door before each performance. Cash or check accepted - no credit or debit cards. Noises Off is a hilarious backstage farce, often called the funniest farce ever written. Please note, this play contains some profanity.

Spring 2006

US Musical - Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" - Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, March 19 at 2:30 pm.  Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $3 for students, FREE for SFS students.  Tickets for all shows will be on sale in the Arts Center lobby Friday, March 17 from 2:30 - 3:30. Friday seating is very limited. Good seats available for Saturday and Sunday.  Same day tickets will also be available at the door based on availability. This production is appropriate for all ages.  (Additional parking is available at Fannie Mae for the Friday evening performance only.)

MS Musical - "SNOOPY" - Friday, April 21 at 8:00 pm and Saturday, April 22 at 2:00 pm.

US Plays - Scarecrow by Don Nigro. Directed by Michael Leibenluft (SFS 2006). The Kabbalistic Psychoanalysis of Adam R. Tzaddik by Anton Piatigorsky (SFS 1990). Directed by John Elko - Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, May 21 at 2:30 pm. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $3 for students, FREE for SFS students. Reserved seating. Fall 2005

MS Holiday Concert featuring the 7/8 Orchestra, Chorus and Vocal Ensembles:  Wednesday, December 7 at 7:30 pm and Friday, December 9 at 2:00 pm. Note: the December 9 concert has been rescheduled for Monday, December 12 from 2 - 3:20pm.

US Choral Concert featuring the Chorus, Chamber Chorus and A Cappella Ensembles:  Sunday, December 11 at 2:30 pm.  Reception following the concert sponsored by the Parents of Black Students, Diversity Committee and Quaker Life Committee

US Instrumental Concert featuring the Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble:  Wednesday, December 14  at 7:30 pm.  Reception following the concert.

Spring 2006

US Dance Ensemble Performance:  Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4 at 7:30 pm.  This production features lighting design by SFS alumna Lily Bradford, Class of 99.

US Chorus and Dance Ensemble Concert:  Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29 at 7:30 pm

US Instrumental Concert:  Sunday, April 30 at 2:30 pm

5th Grade Chorus Concert:  Friday, February 24 at 7:30 pm

Spring 2006

Sidwell Student Playwrights' Festival and Arts Guild - Friday, January 20 at 8:00pm, Kogod Arts Center - Caplin Theater.  In the only Sidwell student theatre production, students will premiere four plays written by SFS Upper School playwrights.  The winning plays that will be performed are Are You Happy Mrs. Stanley? by Lidia-Jean Kott, In Walks the Boss by David Mullins, Waiting for Graduation for Lack of a Better Title by Anya Bernton, and Roar by Scott Rosenberg.  Recommended for high school age and up. An Arts Guild open mic performance will follow.

US Arts Guild:  Friday, February 10 at 7:30 pm; Thursday, March 2 at 7:30 pm; Friday, April 7 at 7:30 pm; Friday, May 12 at 7:30 pm

Black History Celebration sponsored by the Black Student Union:  Wednesday, February 15 at 7:30 pm.  (Please note new date)
