Lions weigh about 400 pounds. They can be up to 7 feet long. They are able to jump a distance of more than 30 feet. Even though lions can jump into trees, they do not like to climb. Their roar can be heard more than 5 miles away. Male lions rest up to 18 hours a day.

Can you figure out how much farther a lion can jump than a human?

First, you need to decide what kind of jump you mean. A person can jump from standing still, or they can take a running leap. Which gets you farther? What kind of jump do you think a lion takes?

                      A lion takes a running leap to make its 30 ft. jump.
